This Disclaimer applies to the MainBook service ("Service") provided by Human Beyond LLC ("MainBook", "we", "us", "our"). It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE SERVICE. BY USING THE SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT EACH OF THE LIMITATIONS, EXCLUSIONS, AND WARNINGS BELOW.

1. MainBook Is Not a Bank, Advisor, or Licensed Professional

MAINBOOK IS NOT A BANK, FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, BROKER-DEALER, MONEY TRANSMITTER, INVESTMENT ADVISOR, FINANCIAL ADVISOR, TAX ADVISOR, TAX PREPARER, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT, BOOKKEEPER OF RECORD, ATTORNEY, OR FIDUCIARY.

The Service is a software-as-a-service tool that converts bank statement and credit card statement PDFs into structured data formats. The Service is provided to assist you in your work. The Service is not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed or qualified professional.

Nothing in the Service, in any Output, or in any communication from us constitutes:

  • financial, investment, banking, or money-management advice;
  • tax advice, tax-return preparation, or any other tax service;
  • legal advice or legal counsel of any kind;
  • accounting advice, bookkeeping of record, or audit services;
  • any professional advice of any kind regulated by any licensing body in any jurisdiction.

No fiduciary, advisory, professional, agency, attorney-client, broker-client, accountant-client, or similar relationship is created between you and us by your use of the Service.

If you require financial, tax, legal, accounting, or other professional advice, consult a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

2. Output From AI May Contain Errors

The Service uses optical character recognition ("OCR") and large-language-model ("LLM") technology provided by third-party AI sub-processors. Such technology is inherently probabilistic and may produce errors, including but not limited to:

  • misreading numbers (for example, mistaking "1" for "7", "0" for "8", or transposing digits);
  • misreading dates (including year, month, and day);
  • inverting the sign of an amount (treating a debit as a credit, or vice versa);
  • omitting transactions that appear in the source document;
  • duplicating transactions;
  • assigning incorrect categories to transactions;
  • producing fabricated or "hallucinated" data that does not appear in the source document;
  • misinterpreting the layout, structure, or context of the source document;
  • producing different Output for the same input on repeated runs.

Output from the Service is approximate, not authoritative. It is your responsibility to verify the Output before relying on it.

3. Your Obligation to Verify Output

DO NOT RELY ON FACTUAL ASSERTIONS IN OUTPUT WITHOUT INDEPENDENT FACT-CHECKING. DO NOT RELY ON OUTPUT AS A SOLE SOURCE OF TRUTH OR FACTUAL INFORMATION, OR AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING, TAX, OR FINANCIAL ADVICE. YOU MUST INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY ALL OUTPUT AGAINST THE ORIGINAL SOURCE DOCUMENTS BEFORE USING, SHARING, OR RELYING ON IT.

This includes, without limitation, verification before using Output for:

(a) tax filings, tax preparation, or any communication with a tax authority;

(b) audit responses, audit assertions, or any communication with an auditor;

(c) accounting submissions, reconciliations, or financial statement preparation;

(d) credit decisions, lending decisions, or loan applications;

(e) regulatory submissions, compliance filings, or any communication with a regulator;

(f) litigation discovery, evidentiary submissions, or any judicial proceeding;

(g) hiring, employment, insurance, housing, or any decision with legal or material impact on a person;

(h) any other activity with legal, financial, or material consequences.

The Service is intended to be used as an aid that you verify, not as the sole basis for any decision.

4. No Use for High-Stakes Automation

You agree not to use the Service to automate, replace, or substitute human judgment in any decision with legal or material consequences without independent human review by a licensed or qualified professional. High-stakes decisions include but are not limited to: financial activities and credit decisions; tax filings; audit responses; legal proceedings; medical decisions; employment, housing, education, or insurance decisions; essential government services; product safety; national security; migration; and law enforcement. The use of the Service in any such manner is at your sole risk, and you accept full responsibility for the consequences.

5. Service Is in Active Development

The Service is currently in active development. Features, accuracy, pricing, performance, and availability may change at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will continue to exist, perform at any particular level, or remain free of error. The Service may be discontinued with reasonable notice.

This active-development status does not reduce your obligation to verify Output before relying on it; if anything, it makes that obligation more important.

6. No Warranty of Accuracy, Completeness, or Reliability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE MAKE NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY OUTPUT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, TIMELY, FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGING, OR FREE OF ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR DEFECTS. THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS.

We make no warranty that:

(a) the Service will meet your requirements or expectations;

(b) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;

(c) any errors in the Service or in Output will be corrected;

(d) the Output will be accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose;

(e) the results obtained from the use of the Service will be reliable for any decision.

7. Use at Your Own Risk

ANY USE OF THE SERVICE AND ANY OUTPUT IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. You are solely responsible for:

(a) the correctness, completeness, and lawfulness of any document you upload;

(b) the verification of any Output before relying on it;

(c) any decision you make based on the Output;

(d) the consequences of any decision you make based on the Output, including any financial loss, tax penalty, audit assessment, regulatory finding, legal judgment, or other adverse consequence.

8. No Reliance on Past Performance

Any past accuracy, performance, availability, or feature of the Service is not a guarantee, prediction, or promise of future accuracy, performance, availability, or features. The Service may degrade, change, or fail at any time without notice.

9. Industry and Regulatory Limitations

The Service is not tailored to comply with, and you may not use the Service in any manner that would require compliance with, industry-specific regulations including but not limited to:

(a) the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA") and its protected health information ("PHI") requirements;

(b) the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA") and its non-public personal information ("NPI") requirements;

(c) the Federal Information Security Management Act ("FISMA") and its federal-information requirements;

(d) the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard ("PCI-DSS") and its cardholder-data requirements;

(e) the Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX") and its public-company internal-controls requirements.

If your use of the Service would be subject to any such law or regulation, you may not use the Service.

10. No Legal, Tax, or Accounting Advice on Output

We do not assess, review, or attest to the accuracy of any Output for any legal, tax, accounting, audit, or regulatory purpose. We make no representation that the Output complies with the requirements of any tax authority, regulator, court, or other body. The decision to use the Output in any such context, and the responsibility for the consequences of that use, are entirely yours.

11. Limitation of Liability and Other Terms Apply

This Disclaimer is in addition to, and does not limit, the disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification obligations, and other provisions of our Terms of Service. Without limiting Section 12 (Disclaimer of Warranties), Section 13 (Limitation of Liability), and Section 14 (Indemnification) of the Terms of Service: in no event will our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service, the Output, or this Disclaimer exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

12. Jurisdictional Limits

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations in this Disclaimer apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and other rights you may have as a consumer under non-waivable statutory protections in your jurisdiction are preserved.
